I want to tell you about one of my favorite oils. It’s Coriander Seed! You might be familiar with Coriander Seed, the seasoning in your kitchen, so you can imagine that it has a spicy aroma. The Latin binomial is Coriandrum sativum. The leaves of the Coriandrum sativum are also used as cilantro fresh and steam distilled into cilantro essential oil.
Coriander Seed essential oil is very high in the constituent linalool. Linalool is commonly known as a CNS depressant. High amounts of linalool are also present in Lavender, Rosewood and Ho Wood.
Coriander has a very deep, low base note aroma that is very similar to Rosewood and Ho Wood.
